Kuro Shiranami is made with 100% carefully selected top grade Kogane Sengan sweet potatoes, and is masterfully crafted by their Toji from Kurose. It has a mild sweetness, and light aromatics and body. Look for an earthy, buttery, umami aroma, then a slight molasses plus sweet potato/ pumpkin flavor. The name "Kuro Shiranami" is derived from the Kuro (black) Koji that is used in the distillation process. In winter, this is nice as Oyuwari- cut with hot water.
