Blaufrankisch is the Austrian red grape generally made for aging, versus Zweigelt, which is an everday sort of grape. But this wine is quite approachable, with ripe red cherry fruit and fuller body than some. It still has food-friendly acidity and medium tannin, but it's sippable, not tart. The winemaker suggests it with pork or other light meats with rich sauce.
